We are getting mature in our firmware deployment mechanism for our vast cross-platform ESXi environment however we still have gaps in isolating which hosts are not in line with our current firmware baseline and/or validating the host once install new firmware.
CIM provides some firmware information in the Hardware status tab but it's normally only BIOS and BMC versions (Dell 10 & 11G referenced). The added support for ESXi in Dell Open Manage Essentials is great however it reports the same information in the software inventory.
Is there some way I can create a report that returns hard type, BIOS, NIC, HBA, OOB, controller, BMC, backplane and any other pertinent firmware versions so we can use it as to target specific hosts and also validate we are compliant?
