Copy-VMGuestFile to retrieve a folder and contents from a VM

Anyone had any luck with this?  I'm getting "

Copy-VMGuestFile : 12/8/2016 9:39:41 AM    Copy-VMGuestFile        The object C:\test\myfolder\ is

not a file.    "

Is this even supported?  I can copy a folder from local to the VM, but I cant get it back.
