hello folks
i'm looking for a command to consolidate snapshots in vSphere5 using the shell.
in vSphere5 they added that new option to consolidate snapshots in vSphere Client.
My problems is as follow: I'm using a backup software to create backups out of snapshots. this backup software is creating snapshots first, copy them on a diffrent storage and deletes the snapshot on the esx host. for some reason there is always this one virtual machine where the snapshots cannot be deleted. so when you select this vm in vsphere client it show that yellow box "this vm needs consolidation". to be able to consolidate i need to restart the mgmt services using ./services.sh restart to get rid of the file lock on these snapshots. I added a cronjob to restart the services and i would want to add a similiar command to consolidate the vm as soon as the file lock is gone.
